There was little to think about when Krish Lamichhane heard of the devastating earthquake that shook the place he still calls home. He knew immediately it was his job to help.
Along with other members of the Nepalese Society of Texas, based in Dallas, the local owner of the convenience store, Charlie’s Grocery, took a few weeks to raise money for relief and medical supplies and got on a plane to Nepal as soon as he could.
“Together, we go to Nepal and give $200,000 in medicine and $100,000 in food,” he said. “I pay all out of pocket to go there.”
